Wake Up Call!!!

Typically on Saturday mornings I try to sleep in, usually with little success, but hey! Well, two weeks ago started out no different from the others, I opened my eyes checked my watch and listened to hear which of my children had already got out of bed. Then BOOM!! WTF?? what was that? So, I jump out of bed and start looking all around the house to make sure the little ones are okay, all was fine there; BOOM!! There it was again, so I proceed to the wimdows and I found the source of the noise that shook me out of bed!

Yes that is my hubs inside a backhoe which he is using to dig huge holes in the yard right next to my bedroom window! Morning hun! Apparently everyone else decided that this would be a good day to dig around in the muck and fix our drainage issues by putting in a new septic tank. This is right under my bedroom window...

This process continued for the rest of the day. And inevitably involved ME having to get under our house to dig a tunnel back to the bathroom in order to reroute our entire plumbing for the house to go to the back of the house, this a small space that is quite disgusting by any standards. To make matters worse ((apology now for the graphic details)) water had been leaking under our house particulary under the bathroom for quite some time and though most of the water was removed a very gross sludge remained on the top layer of the dirt.

(Here is a pic of my idea of the gate to hell! lol. It is actuall the hole I had to crawl through to get to the underneath of the bathroom.)

It was black and oozing and every shovel full weighed three times as much as regular dirt not to mention the fact thaqt it was sticky and I had a limited range of motion. NICE!!! Then once we think all is good, my hubs sends our eldest daughter in to take a shower because she had dirtied herself with the nasty muck "accidently". The showers drain pipe falls off!! Great!! Now I have to crawl through the muck and sludge again; this time to a space that is barely wider than my shoulders and reattach a pipe with no knowledge of how to do so, plus I had to slide myself back into this corner on my back as there was no room at all for movement once back there. Layed there cold, wet, and covered in muck for what seemed like hours but in reality was probably about 30 or 45 minutes, just for the men to decide that it was a lost cause for the night and we would try again tomorrow! YEAH!! So I climb out, go to the neighbor's house to shower, just to wake up the next day (sun) to do it all over again. I had to lay under there much longer this time while battling not only my own closterphobia and fear that there was something like a mouse or snake under the house with me, but also the incompetence of not one but three men who for the lives of them couldn't figure out how the shower drain was supposed to fit back together!!! Though it was an awful experience for me and if I never have to go back underneath my house again it will be too soon, I am happy to report that they did manage to get everything turned around, hooked up and working properly! So I guess it all paid off in the end but <> I hope I never have to partake in something like that again!!!!

Show-Off

This is my baby girl, I just had to show her off a little! :>

Is she a doll or what? THis is a pic of my son; I have more pics of him this way than of him smiling!!
